I just got home from a quick trip to visit my friends at the University of San Diego's Energy Policy Initiatives Center, who hosted their Eighth Annual Climate & Energy Law Symposium on Friday. I spoke on a panel about regional climate strategies, covering my recent work (here, here) on post-2020 carbon pricing authority in California and its relationship with proposals to expand CAISO to include more of the Western U.S. Thanks to my fellow panelists, Craig Segall (CARB) and Jonas Monast (UNC); our moderator, Carrie Downey (USD); and to the team at EPIC—Scott Anders, Nilmini Silva-Send, and Joe Kaatz. I'm always impressed with the interesting collection of speakers Scott and his colleagues gather for their annual symposium and love the chance to visit San Diego. Looking forward to seeing everyone again soon.
